How to Root Galaxy S II I9100 Running Official ICS XXLPQ 4.0.3 ROM

Samsung has pushed its first Official ICS update for Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 a few hours back. We have already covered the Download and Installation part of it and now is the fun part, Rooting this ICS ROM. Follow the guide after the jump to root Galaxy S II running ICS XXLPQ 4.0.3 ROM.

Step 1: Download and Install Official ICS XXLPQ 4.0.3 ROM on your Galaxy I9100

Step 2: Download Chainfire’s CF – Root XXLPQ (Rooted Kernel – THREAD)

Step 3: Extract the files from Rooted Kernel Zip and look for ODIN

Step 4: Run ODIN and put your device in Download mode and wait for ODIN to recognize your Galaxy S II

Step 5: Click PDA and select CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KP*-v5.2-CWM5.tar

Step 6: Then finally click START

That’s it, wait for your device to restart and you’ll have the rooted Galaxy S II running the official ICS 4.0.3.
