Upcoming BlackBerrry Curve 9320 spotted in India

Late in January, a leaked roadmap from BlackBerry surfaced displaying a range of handsets that are scheduled to be launched, this year. In the document, a handset, which went by the name, BlackBerry Curve 9320 had also featured in the list. This handset is scheduled to make its debut, during the second quarter of 2012. At the time, however, there was nothing to visually please us and there was just the name to go by. As per an exclusive report by BGR.in, the website has got their hands on the product and have shared some images and insights on what to expect from the upcoming BlackBerry smartphone.

Is just the right size

The author states that the 9320 has the right size, without it being either too large, or too small and the plastic used feels sturdy, in comparison to the high-end smartphones from Samsung. He notes that most likely there would be no difference between the upcoming Curve 9220 and this model, when it comes to the look and feel of the devices; the only difference lies in the fact that the Curve 9320 features a different camera and 3G capability. An interesting feature of this smartphone is that it has a BBM button on the side, which acts as a shortcut for accessing the hugely popular instant messaging client. Research in Motion may launch this smartphone with some free BBM plans when these devices hit the stores in India. Apart from this he says that it will be running on BlackBerry OS 7.1, which features deeper BBM integration in respect to third party applications. The author’s source has informed him that on a 2G network this handset lasted a day and this included long duration calls, as well. The handset also supposedly comes with FM capabilities; however the author could not confirm the same.

Here is a quick glance at the specifications of the BlackBerry Curve 9320

  • BlackBerry OS 7.1
  • 2.44-inch qVGA display with a resolution of 320 x 240
  • 3.2MP camera with flash, Image stabilization and video recording capabilities

The website concludes by stating, “Considering that the Curve 9220 is expected to be priced around Rs 9,000, we would like to believe its 3G variant is most likely to be priced under Rs 12,000.
