Huawei Honor gets Indian price tag, coming soon

Huawei’s latest smartphone, the Honor is coming soon to an online store near you. This Gingerbread running smartphone has been put up on online store Flipkart and though the website currently shows that the smartphone's out of stock, we reckon it should start shipping sometime next week onwards. The site has priced the Huawei Honor at Rs.19,990.

In case you’ve forgotten, here’s a reminder on what the spec sheet for this smartphone looks like.
  • 4.0-inch FWVGA capacitive touchscreen with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution
  • 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor with an Adreno 205 GPU
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • 1GB internal storage
  • 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, DLNA
  • GPS with A-GPS support and Google Maps
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, EDR, microUSB v2.0
  • 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, 720p video recording
  • 0.3 megapixel front camera
  • Stereo FM radio with RDS
  • Memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card
  • 3.5 mm handsfree socket
  • 1900 mAh Lithium – ion battery

In terms of media and connectivity, you pretty much get everything with the Huawei Honor and while only a full review can give us the actual picture, the 1900 mAh Lithium – ion battery may mean that’s its got the potential to outlast the other smartphones in the same price bracket. For example, the Neo V has a 1500 mAh battery, the Optimus Black and even the Xperia Pro have a 1500 mAh battery.

The other phones falling within a similar price bracket, include the LG Optimus Blackthe Xperia Active and the Xperia Pro. There’s also the Atrix 2 for close to 22K, but it’s a dual core smartphone. For close to a grand cheaper you also have the following set of smartphones – the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V, the Galaxy S LCD and the Xperia Ray. As we can see, the Huawei Honor has a pretty big competition to fight it out against. The Xperia Neo V in particular has become more of a crowd favourite and the main difference between the two phones is that the Neo V comes with a 3.7-inch screen, as opposed to the 4-inch one of the Honor.
